A Fairy-Tale Beginning

As winter continues to embrace us in its frosty cuddle, let's get all indulgent and romantic with a bouquet of dreamy dresses! Sit back, sip your coco and swoon at these ethereal beauties!  

 

What an exquisite little creature! I love the combination of fabrics and colours on this beautiful gown. You'd feel like something straight out of A Midsummer Night's Dream in this one. 

I think this soft peachy colour is such a sweet alternative to ivory and the way it peeps through the lace overlay, creates a dress with body and volume that is still a million miles away from being overly frou-frou!

This beautiful dress offers as much fairytale charm as the others, in perhaps a simpler way and for those not wanting so much flesh on show, the lacy top is perfect.

I love the sensual shape of this gown, and if it's sparkle and detail you are after, this has tem in intricate abundance. It brings to mind the shape and feel of art nouveau sculpture and would bring sophistication and grace to the big day.  

The petal-shaped bell sleeves of this wedding dress are so lovely and you would look like a maiden straight out of a Pre-Raphaelite painitng in this one!

The tiered layers at the bottom of this gorgeous nouveau style gown give it a softness which neatly balances the heavier structuring at the top and the vertical line detailing add a touch of that flapper girl fun and glamour.

The sweep of this skirt is ultra romantic and I love the colours. You couldn't help but feel like the fairy-tale bride in this one!

All that Glitters is Gorgeous

Something that appeals to me at a wedding is a little bit of glitter. 

This can be incorporated in a myriad of ways, from the bridal gown itself, the BM outfits, or the table decorations. 

For today's post I have brought together some of my favourite examples of how to incorporate a little sparkle into your big day - think Paloma Faith glamour, rather than Kardashian bling!

Love this stylish skirt for the BMs - could team it with  a cute black ballet top, or mix and match so that all the BMs have a slightly different look.




What a bunch of beauties these Bridal parties are - I love the look of each being in a different gown, but united by the sparkle!

Or why not take the glitter centre stage, and ditch the traditional white gown for a bit of glam? The shape of this floor length number would compliment so many body shapes, and the simple contrast of the plunge neck dress below and the pale roses is sublime.

 A detailed head-piece, in my favourite art nouveau style, would bring in the bling in an elegant and sophisticated way.







Perhaps a sparking table cloth on each table might drown out the other decorations, or even over shadow the bride, but using a couple, perhaps for the cake or gift table, adds a certain theatrical charm!

And talking of the cake! How amazing is this?
It makes me swoon, it's that sexy! 



And last, but not least, a few ideas for decorations. Above, is an example of using vintage style christmas tree decorations, and I love the glitter tipped feathers and gold painted bottles below - both great examples of some 'do it yourself bling!'
